Are you tired of the winning yet?

In the past month, since Inauguration, we have been blessed with victory after victory Donald Trump has given us at the federal level. His first day, we issued over 300 executive orders. Every single day, we are greeted with a flurry of activity. The administration has made it their personal goal to deliver 10-20 wins a day. And so far, they are exceeding that breakneck pace. On our issues, Trump and his administration have:

- Pardoned 23 pro-life activists the Biden government tyrannically imprisoned and handed lengthy, sadistic prison sentences

- Defunded international abortions and defunded several avenues of federal government abortion funding

- Banned biological men in women’s sports

- Banned minors from getting transgender surgeries and puberty blockers

- Attended the March for Life along with his Vice President, the first sitting President and Vice President to do so

On immigration and other important issues, the amount of policy he’s enacted is incalculable. DOGE has started the process of auditing and dismantling government waste, starting with USAID. Already, 75,000 government employees have taken a buy-out and left. USAID has been abolished and with it, direct funding of a litany of Leftist NGOs propping up leftist political causes and campaigns. Soros, Planned Parenthood, and many other outright leftist political NGOs were receiving tens of millions in USAID grants. For 2025, this is the most significant move Trump can do. First, it demolishes the Left’s access to government funding that has been propping up their political success and cultural impact for decades. Second, it potentially removes Leftist government workers from Virginia, meaning less committed Leftist voters in November. The more government employees fired or moved to other states, the better Virginia’s future political outlook is. How have voters responded to this radical change as Trump tackles dozens of issues and quickly accomplishes his core campaign promises?

Here’s what the job approval polls say:

Rasmussen: Trump +10

CBS: Trump +6

Trafalgar/Inside Advantage: +9

Economist/YouGov: -2

The average on Trump’s job approval in RealClearPolitics is +3, with Trump sitting at a 48.8% approval rating—the highest in polling history for Trump.

Given, this is a honeymoon period, but Donald Trump has never been more popular. He never enjoyed this level of popularity at any point in his first term. By the issues, mass deportations is polling at an overwhelming number. Ban on men in women’s sports polled 79-19 by CBS. CNN’s poll found 70% of voters think Trump is honoring his promises. How have Democrats responded? They have made defunding USAID their “Alamo.” The Democrat congressional congress even attempted to storm the USAID government building and were prevented from entering.

They have staked themselves to this issue and framed it as the worst thing Trump has done thus far. This is ludicrous issue to stake themselves to and it has politically backfired. On the same day, Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt dedicated her press conference to reading the USAID grants which included gay comic books in Peru, trans research and surgeries in Bolivia, condoms in Mozambique, a trans affirming and drag opera in Colombia, and many more ridiculous examples of Leftist pet projects. That is now what the Democrats have directly tied themselves to defending. And the polls show it. A CBS poll showed most Americans support cutting foreign aid. And now, Democrats are the most unpopular they have been since 1992. An NYT-Siena poll showed their negative favorability in the double digits. A Cyngal poll showed Democrats at -18 favorability. This is the worst they have ever polled in my lifetime and their second-lowest point in modern political history. Their brand lies in the gutter while Trump and the GOP are the most popular they’ve ever been. The honeymoon won’t last forever—but it may last long enough to hand Virginia a favorable, conservative political environment.

2025

This session, we’ve seen the Democrats place every single Republican bill proposed by a legislator in a close district on a “kill list.” 180 bills did not even get docketed for a hearing in a subcommittee. The Democrats have put forward empty virtue signaling bills instead as they try and put themselves in the best position to campaign in this year. The race between Winsome Sears and Abagail Spanberger has been mostly quiet, as both sides mostly focus on fundraising. However, Spanberger has made some missteps, fueling primary rumors. Spanberger made promises to vote down repealing right to work publicly, in a bid to moderate herself. This incensed the unions and pro-union Democrats. Spanberger made the opposite promise to donors. She’s on the record on both sides of this issue. And it’s not the only one, as she tries and plays both the moderate and the progressive simultaneously. Congressman Bobby Scott is still flirting with a run for Governor but hasn’t declared and we are two months from the filing deadline. Behind him, several members of the black caucus like Sen. Mamie Locke and Sen. Louise Lucas are pushing him to run. Three polls were conducted in January. One showed Spanberger up only a point by Emerson in early January. The Second poll, conducted by Mason-Dixon, showed Spanberger up by four points. The third, conducted by CNU, showed Spanberger up 10 points with a huge number of undecideds. The early polling picture at this point doesn’t matter but shows a snapshot of where the race is at in February.

We held a fantastic Twitter Space with Sen. Glen Sturtevant, Del. Mark Earley Jr., and Christian Heiens, the “Oracle of Virginia.” Sturtevant and Earley gave us a session update and we discussed the 2025 elections. If you have an hour, I highly recommend you listen to this Twitter Space. You can listen to it here!
